Starting Kasa at home

My name is Regina Sambizi Tarambawamwe the founder of Kasa Knits & Krochets.My grandmother taught me how to crochet and knit. Although my grandmother wanted me to pursue the craft as an occupation, l only crocheted as a side hustle to fund her studies. I was pursuing an accounting degree in Zimbabwe and looked down on crocheting, an activity for old people.

When my grandmother passed away, however, l turned to crocheting and knitting to honour her . From this grew a thriving business and l made it my main focus when l followed my husband to South Africa in 2019. To further honour my family l named brand Kasa. K.A is my mother’s initials and S.A. her father’s.

All Kasa garments are hand made with 100% cotton yarn that is locally sourced. I  have passed on my skills to my husband and trying my best to teach  my 2 daughters , who are part of every business .Kasa employs two additional people and we dream of expanding our workforce in the near future.
